I know it's been a long time since we posted anything on the blog. That doesn't mean we haven't been doing anything else. As a matter of fact, we've been playing a lot more, so... well, you know...

priorities. Anyway, we've fallen into a pretty good groove of late. Playing here and there, but thought it was time to put something on here that would hold us for a little while.

First of all, this Saturday, July 4, Nero's Fiddle will be one of a few ensembles who have been invited to play at Mt. Sterling's big 4th of July celebration at Montgomery County High School Football Stadium. That venue's going to be the center of Mt. Sterling's county-wide celebration of Independence Day. I don't know who else is playing, but the music will start at 5:30, and we'll be playing at 6:30. Once it gets dark, the fireworks will start.

After that, we're gonna "take a short pause for the cause," as they say. July and August are gonna be full of vacations, weddings, and fun stuff like that, but we hit the ground running in September. Sept. 5 is a big day for us. We've been invited to perform at the Metamora (Indiana) Music Festival. I'm not exactly sure where Metamora is, but I know it's on the river and about 2 hours from here. We're gonna be playing at 2 p.m.. I'm sure it's gonna be fun, so come out if you can.

After the Metamora Music Festival, we've got two more gigs soon after. First up is one of our favorites, the Lexington Gallery Hop. As before, we're stationing ourselves at the art gallery of First Presbyterian Church on Sept. 18. They always have good art and good food at First Prez. It's a super laid-back event, and we love it. Then, on Saturday, Oct. 3, we'll be playing 'back home' at Kenwick Table at 201 Owsley. Hands down, it's our favorite. The staff is great. The venue is comfortable. It's just a perfect fit for all of us. They really got it going on there at KT, whether we're there or not. You haven't really lived a full life until you've seen Nero's Fiddle at Kenwick, so put that on your calendar. Come get some good food and drink, hear some fun tunes for a couple of hours, and be home in time to watch some Netflix if you want to. Hope to see you soon.
