THE STORY SO FAR....

A Musical Journey conceived in Tradition, built in Isolation, stepping forth into the World.

Nero's Fiddle is a quartet that has taken decades build. The band began with Carl and Tina Wagoner developing and innovative and solid musicianship on their Mountain Dulcimers. Next, they added their longtime friend, picking virtuoso Dean Phelps. Then along came everybody's favorite bodhrán player and spoon player, Barry Miller. The result of this fateful alignment of stars and planets an ensemble with well over 150 years of playing experience. What exactly do they play? What kind of music do they render? Well, they call it "apalachicana." It's a hybrid of Old Time fiddle tunes, Scotch-Ir reels, hornpipes, and jigs. Part Bluegrass, part Bach, a little Stephen Foster, and a touch of Cajun. They also include a smattering of Gospel. They have pleased crowds throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky and beyond. It may seem confusing, right? It makes delightful sense when you give them a listen. You'll leave happier!
