THE STORY SO FAR....
A Musical Journey conceived in Tradition, built in Isolation, stepping forth into the World.
Nero's Fiddle is a quartet that has taken decades to build. The band began with Carl and Tina Wagoner developing and showcasing innovative and solid and musicianship on their Mountain Dulcimers. Next was added added their long time friend, Travis picking virtuoso Dean Phelps. Then along came everybody's favorite bodhran playing, spoon player Barry Miller. The result of this fateful alignment of the stars and planets is an ensemble of well over 150 years of playing experience. What exactly do they play? What kind of music do they render? Well they call it "Appalachicana." It's kinda of a hybrid of Old Time fiddle tunes, Scotch-Irish Reels, Horn Pipes and Jigs. Part Bluegrass. Part Bach. A little Stephen Foster. A little bit Cajun. A smattering of Gospel. They have pleased crowds throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky and beyond. Seems confusing, right? It makes delightful sense when you give them a listen. You'll leave happier.
